Stuffing 4 cups dry bread cubes 1/4-1/2 cup chopped onions 1 - 1 1/2 cup finely chopped celery 1 6 oz. can mushrooms* 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp garlic powder pinch sage 1/3 cup butter About 1/2 cup hot broth or lightly salted hot water Chopped sausage* *Optional In a frying pan, melt butter. Add celery, onions, mushrooms, sausage, and seasonings. Cook until celery and onions are tender and sausage is done. Add this mixture to the bread in a big bowl. Add hot liquid a little bit at a time until stuffing is moist. Spread stuffing in a 9X9 pan and cover with foil. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 10-15 minutes. Uncover stuffing and bake until brown and it starts to crisp. This is great holiday recipe, but is also quick and easy enough for day-to-day cooking! Double the recipe and use a 9X13 inch pan.
