Mashed Potatoes Peel and wash potatoes. Rinse potatoes several times until the water runs clear. Cut in half, and cook in salted boiling water until a fork goes through the center easily. Drain, and add milk, butter, garlic and salt (if needed). Mix in a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, adding more milk and butter to taste. Add a sprinkling of garlic for extra flavor!
