Apple Pie 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples (2 pounds) 1 cup sugar 2 tbsp flour 1/2 tsp cinnamon dash nutmeg 1 tbsp butter (optional) 1 tbsp lemon juice (if apples lack tartness) Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to apples and toss to coat fruit. Fill 9-inch pie plate with mixture and dot with butter. Adjust top crust. Seal and flute edge. Cover edge of pie with foil. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil; bake for 20-25 minutes more or till crust is golden.
